Nineteen immaculate, green, terraced gardens gently bow to a domed structure situated at the descent. The golden-domed shrine is the resting place of the Prophet-Herald, also known as Báb of the Baha’i Faith.

The Baha’i gardens situated in Haifa, Israel are a dedication to the Prophet Báb. These gardens are the center piece of this picturesque town which is located by the bay of Haifa. The neatly manicured lawns, hedges, flowers beds and gravel paths are lovingly cared for by dedicated gardeners.

The garden complex seems to be merging with the town of Haifa and the town seems to be merging with the Mediterranean sea.This seamless integration makes for a pretty picture.

An azure Mediterranean sea creates a hypnotic setting with its calm waters and boats floating serenely. A contrast to this calmness is the port of Haifa which is busy and bustling.The monotonous boxy look of the business district is broken by the Sail Tower. It is apt that such a tower be constructed overlooking the Haifa Bay.

 

About the Baha’i faith: The followers of Baha’i religion believe that there is only one God. Even though there are so many religions, there is only one spiritual source and God is the same for all. The Baha’i faith originated in nineteenth century Persia and has approximately 5 million followers world over.
